The Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) virus was discovered in ticks of the Hyalomma marginatum species that were taken from cattle in the Pyrénées-Orientales area and Corsica in October 2023, marking the first instance of this virus being found in France. Santé publique France has published updated pertussis surveillance data from the RENACOQ network in France for the years 2022 and 2023, and reports an increase in the spread of the disease in the country since the beginning of 2024.
