Thirty people are presently undergoing treatment at the Kasoa Polyclinic and Mother and Child Hospital after five people were killed in a cholera epidemic in Kasoa.
Local officials are worried about the situation and are asking the public to take precautions to stop it from spreading further.
Three people passed away on Thursday, October 31, and two more died on Friday afternoon, bringing the total number of fatalities to five, according to Awutu Senya at Municipal Chief Executive Anita Love Obo Amissah.
The MCE conveyed profound apprehension over the epidemic and underscored the necessity for inhabitants to uphold hygiene and give priority to wholesome eating practices.
Amissah stressed the importance of maintaining a clean environment in halting the spread of cholera and advised Kasoa locals to exercise caution.
She underlined that personal accountability, such as appropriate food hygiene and trash disposal, might aid in containing the outbreak.
The MCE stated in her interview with Citi FM that cholera patients have also been submitted to the Kasoa health facilities from nearby constituencies, including as the Gomoa East and Awutu Senya West Districts.
She urged the local communities to work together in a coordinated effort to control and manage the illness.
Additionally, the MCE praised health officials for their prompt response to the epidemic and their efforts to contain and treat cases as soon as possible.
She urged citizens to exercise caution, adhere to health precautions, and get help right once if symptoms appear.

“I am aware that in order to assist with the problem, the hospital has summoned back employees who were on leave. Awutu Senya West and Gomoa East have referred people, bringing the total number of fatalities to five. As of right now, thirty more persons are being admitted, MCE Anita Love Obo Amissah stated.
