On Wednesday, May 5, 2024, the Health Community of West Africa (HCOWA) and the Federation of Africa Medical Equipment, Disposables and Devices Manufacturers and Suppliers (FOAMEDDMS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to co-organize and host the 2024 HCOWA West Africa Medical Industry Investment Summit and Expo.
The MOU was signed by HCOWA CEO Anna Jiang and FOAMEDDMS CEO Anthony Ameka.
The agreement marks a significant step towards fostering collaboration in the health sector across the West African sub-region. Both organizations aim to bring together key stakeholders in the health industry to build partnerships, attract investment, and develop the region’s healthcare infrastructure.
Anna Jiang emphasized the critical need for improved medical equipment and facilities in West Africa.
“We are committed to making medical equipment accessible to all in the region. This partnership with FOAMEDDMS is both timely and essential for facilitating collaboration and advancement,” she stated.
Anthony Ameka reiterated the Federation’s commitment to growth and development within the medical industry.
“Through this partnership with HCOWA, we reaffirm our dedication to advancing healthcare delivery, research, and investment opportunities in West Africa. This MOU will pave the way for fruitful collaborations, knowledge exchange, and sustainable investment partnerships that will benefit not only our organizations but the entire region,” he said.
Both parties stressed their commitment to ensuring the success of the 2024 Summit and Expo, highlighting the potential for significant advancements in the West African healthcare sector.
